Answers to important questions

Who do I ask for help or advice?
Look for people with ORANGE batches. They are members of the RTM2014 Team or Helping Hands and will be happy to assist if you have any questions.

Where do the sessions take place?
Keep a look out for information posters on the first and third floor, and check the schedule you find in this booklet.

What shall I wear?
No, this is not a question concerning dress code – there is none. As the conference includes activities out in the fresh air, however, we do want to recommend taking appropriate shoes and a coat. In case of rain, there is a certain number of umbrellas available. To be safe, however, we recommend bringing your own.

How do I get about in Karlsruhe?
Karlsruhe isn’t that big. So we highly recommend just taking a stroll. For longer distances, we have included one daily travel card for the tram in your welcome package. You need to validate it once you get on the tram and it will be valid for 24 hours from that moment on. Also, we have prepared city and tram maps for you to get from the reception desk. Feel free to ask the organizing staff for further advice.

How do I get to the Conference Dinner?
You may go to the Conference Dinner on Thursday, 16 October, only if you are a speaker or if you have booked the All-In Option or the Conference Dinner separately. To get there, you have two possibilities:

  •  Meet the organizing team on the 1st floor of Karlshochschule at 6.30 p.m. The team will lead the way. Please make sure to be on time for departure.
  • Or go on your own via tram or by foot. The address of the Restaurant “Zum kleinen Ketterer” is Adlerstr. 34, 76133 Karlsruhe. City and tram maps are available at the reception desk. We meet at the restaurant at approx. 7.00 p.m. Please ask the organizing team for further advice.

How do I get to the Surprise Tour?
You may go to the Surprise Tour on Friday, 17 October, only if you are a speaker or if you have booked the All-In Option or the Surprise Tour separately. We meet on the 1st floor of Karlshochschule at approx. 5.15 p.m. for departure. It is absolutely crucial for you to be on time! Why? You will hear more about this on Friday.

What if I’m hungry after the Surprise Tour?
We have made a reservation at the “Badisch Brauhaus”, just a stone’s throw from Karlshochschule. The “Badisch Brauhaus” is a restaurant and beer brewery serving lovely local dishes and self-brewed beer. On Thursday, a registration list will be available at the reception desk for you to sign up for dinner there.
Please make sure to put your name down before 4.00 p.m. on Thursday so we can make final arrangements. Costs for food and drinks at the restaurant are not included in the conference fee.

If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to approach the organizing team on site!
